PM Modi Hosts Japan’s Sanae Takaichi for Annual Summit in India

Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi has commenced a three-day official visit to India, arriving in New Delhi to engage in significant discussions with her Indian counterpart, Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The visit coincides with the 16th India-Japan Annual Summit, a pivotal event aimed at enhancing the bilateral relationship between the two nations.

This marks Takaichi’s inaugural official trip to India, presenting a prime opportunity for both countries to fortify their partnership. The summit will serve as a platform for the leaders to explore cooperation in key sectors such as trade, investment, defense, and technology. Additionally, they will address regional security concerns and assess the progress of the India-Japan Special Strategic and Global Partnership.

Prime Minister Modi expressed his enthusiasm upon welcoming Takaichi, highlighting his eagerness to host her and engage in comprehensive discussions that could deepen bilateral ties. He underscored the importance of continued collaboration to ensure peace, stability, and prosperity in the Indo-Pacific region and beyond, reflecting the strategic significance of the partnership.

The Ministry of External Affairs noted that the summit will enable both nations to broaden their cooperative efforts across various sectors. It will also provide a venue for exchanging views on regional and global issues that hold mutual interest, further cementing the partnership between India and Japan.
