China-India Set to Engage in 25th Border Negotiation Round

Date:

China and India are gearing up for the 25th round of talks between their Special Representatives aimed at addressing the longstanding Boundary Question. This announcement was made by Guo Jiakun, the spokesperson for the Chinese Foreign Ministry, during a regular press briefing on Tuesday. Both nations are reportedly in ongoing communication regarding border issues, with efforts concentrated on implementing prior agreements from earlier discussions.

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi’s visit to New Delhi marks another significant step in these diplomatic efforts. He is attending the 16th Meeting of BRICS National Security Advisors and High Representatives on National Security. On Monday, Wang held talks with Indian National Security Adviser Ajit Doval, further underscoring the commitment of both sides to maintain dialogue.

Guo highlighted that the overall situation along the China-India border remains stable, with effective communication channels continuing to operate between the two countries. This stability is supported by the implementation of consensus reached during the 24th round of boundary talks, as both nations strive to manage border issues constructively.

The forthcoming talks are anticipated to build on past efforts, with a focus on sustaining peace and stability along the shared frontier. As China and India prepare for these discussions, there is a concerted emphasis on maintaining and enhancing diplomatic relations to prevent any escalation of tensions.
