Oman and India have underscored their dedication to strengthening their strategic alliance, with a focus on enhancing trade, investment, energy, logistics, and emerging technologies, as well as bolstering regional maritime security. This commitment was highlighted during a meeting held in Muscat on Friday between Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, Oman’s Foreign Minister, and Dr. S. Jaishankar, India’s External Affairs Minister.

During their discussions, the ministers reviewed the enduring relationship between their two nations and examined avenues for deepening bilateral cooperation. They placed a strong emphasis on increasing business collaboration, fostering high-quality investments, and creating new economic opportunities that would benefit both countries.

The dialogue also extended to regional and international issues, particularly focusing on the security of maritime navigation through the crucial Strait of Hormuz. The ministers addressed how regional tensions could impact international trade, energy supplies, and global supply chains, stressing the need for careful management in these areas.

Both Oman and India emphasized the importance of ongoing coordination and diplomatic communications to support regional stability. They advocated for dialogue among all parties involved, aiming to reduce tensions in line with international law and ensure the security of key international shipping routes.
